You’re invited to go to the 2008 SPO Provincial Championships  courtesy of SPO’s Masters Invitation Program! 
 
** Please make sure you carefully read and understand the Tournament Guidelines as set out on www.slopitch.org. **
In our continuing effort to build and strengthen the Masters divisions of our slo-pitch program, we are once again inviting teams from across the Province to compete in our Provincial Championships in the various Masters divisions.

Attached is all of the information you need to register for the 2008 SPO Provincial Championships to be held in London on August 22 - 24, 2008!  Teams must register on-line at www.slopitch.org and all teams must be registered members of Slo-Pitch Ontario.  The deadline for registration for these entries is Monday, August 11, 2008.  We will not be able to accept invitations after that date.  Payment in the amount of $385.00 (plus your SPO registration, if applicable) must be received by the SPO office by that date.

Please note the following:

?   A player may only participate on one Mens or Womens team and/or one Masters team and/or one Coed team.  Although the Provincial Championships are played over four weekends it is considered one tournament.

?   Players playing in a second category (Masters and/or Coed) must play in the same division or one lower.  (More information on allowable divisions of play can be found on our website.) 

?   Any Masters aged player who plays Mens A or Mens B may only play in a Competitive Masters division.

?   Mens Masters 35+Competitive and 40+Competitive teams may have a maximum of 2 Mens A players and a maximum of 3 Mens B players on their Roster.

?   Womens Masters teams may have a maximum of 2 Competitive players on their Roster.

?   REMINDER! - A Ladies Masters 40+ team may have a maximum of 2 players from the Ladies Masters 35+ division and a Ladies Masters 50+ team may have a maximum of 2 players from the Ladies Masters 40+ division on their Roster.

If you have already registered for the Provincials - we wish you and your team the best of luck!  If you have not already registered, please consider participating.  It would be great to see you in London as you compete for distinctive SPO Provincial Awards, travel expenses and recognition as the 2008 SPO Provincial Champions in your division.

New Dates!
 
The 2008 Provincial Championships will once again be held over four consecutive weekends in the London area but will now begin the weekend of August 22-24 and continue August 29-31, September 5-7 and end September 12-14. Dates and divisions are listed on the reverse. All Masters divisions will be played the weekend of August 22-24, 2008.
 
When to Register
 
Registration will be available June 15th and must be done online. To ensure your place in this Tournament you should register as soon as possible but in any event, no later than August 11, 2008. No Masters Invitations will be accepted after that date. 
 
How to Pay
 
Payment can be made several ways: either by PayPal, or by certified cheque or money order. Uncertified cheques will not be accepted.
 
Information Needed to Register
 
Before you register, make sure you have the following information available:
 
- Your address, telephone number and an email address. The email address is important since that will be our method of communicating with you. 
- Name, telephone number and email address for an Alternate Contact. (If necessary, you can use the same email address).
- All players’ names from your final Slo-Pitch Ontario Association 2008 Registered Roster. Your Provincial Championship Roster must be the same as your 2008 Registered Roster. Absolutely no player substitutions or changes are allowed to this Roster.
- Credit Card information, if you are paying online. 
 
The Registration Process
 
To begin, go to our website, www.slopitch.org
. To start the registration process, click on Provincial Championship Registration from either the home page or the Tournament page. The registration process is password protected. 
 

It is important that you read and follow all of the instructions.  When you get to the Review page make sure you print it as  requested. This will ensure you have a copy of the Roster that you may use in the Championships. If you are paying by certified cheque or money order, be sure to print out the invoice and mail it to the SPO office along with your payment. 
 
Confirmation
 
When you have completed your online registration, you will receive two emails. The first one you will receive immediately to confirm our receipt of your entry.  Following the processing of your payment, a review of your Application and a check of your Roster, you will receive a second one to confirm when you have been officially accepted into the Provincials.
